Chlorine

The use of chlorine as a disinfectant agent for public water supplies is a common practice. As a result of this, the finished water contains residual chlorine. Many companies, such as breweries and soft drink manufacturers, find that residual chlorine in water used for processing can affect the quality of the final product. Also, many high purity water systems utilize ion exchange resin or membranes which are sensitive to feed water containing chlorine.

KDF Media

KDF Process Media are used for a variety of per-treatment, primary water treatment, and wastewater treatment processes. They are generally used in place of, or in conjunction with, granular activated carbon filters, even carbon block or inline filters. KDF water filter media extend the life of granular activated carbon (GAC) while protecting the carbon bed against fouling by bacterial growth.

Water softeners remove hard minerals, and the treated water doesn’t leave behind scaly buildup that harms appliances. What is hard water?

Skin & Hair

Using soft water requires less soap and fewer rinses to achieve excellent results, meaning your hair will maintain its color and condition for much longer. Soft water also balances your hair’s pH level, so you’re left with silky smooth hair after every wash.
You’ll be less likely to clog your pores and dry out your skin, you won’t be as itchy and irritated, and you’ll be more likely to have the beautiful, clear skin you desire. Soft water is especially good for those who suffer from skin conditions such as sensitive skin, eczema, acne, or psoriasis.

How long does the installation take?

Installation times can vary from project to project but the most common time frame frame installation is 3-4 hours. Each home is different and the existing plumbing plays a role. Newer home tend to take less time as no damage has occurred and pipes have not become brittle and frail.

Ongoing Service

Both the Hygia and the Hygia +, can be serviced by our customers or by Select Source Water. We have many customers that would prefer to install the system and forget about it. We have services in place that allow our customers to enjoy the benefits of soft water and conditioning without the burden of salt or potassium as part of the maintenance process
