The pre- and post-filters in reverse osmosis systems need to be changed every 12-24 just like other carbon filters, while reverse osmosis membranes generally need to be changed every couple of years. Having Select Source Water come in and change the filter for you removes a lot of the hassle of doing it yourself.  Evaporated salt is the best type of salt you can buy for your water softener, and we recommend it for any Select Source Water, water softening system. All of these options use sodium chloride to operate, which is the most common compound used in water softening systems.  These replacement salts can be purchased through improvement centers such as Home Depot by our customers, or we can bring them to you for cost.
